READING MAGIC 5 is designed to emphasize the role of the silent final "e" in phonics, adhering to established phonetic principles to aid children in developing robust reading skills.

Among the five fundamental rules associated with the silent "e" are:

 <li>Words Don’t End in U or V: English words typically do not conclude with "u" or "v" (e.g., "love").</li>
 <li>Softens G and C: The presence of a silent "e" modifies "g" to sound /j/ and "c" to sound /s/ (e.g., "twice").</li>
 <li>Every Syllable Needs a Vowel: Each syllable requires at least one vowel (e.g., "able").</li>
 <li>No Job: In certain instances, the silent "e" does not alter pronunciation (e.g., "one").</li>
</ul>
